Massimiliano Allegri admits he had already signed for Real Madrid before Juventus contacted him, prompting a change of heart.
Allegri has recounted the past that the contract with Real Madrid took place in the summer of last year. But he changed his mind and Florentino Perez was undisputed after being contacted by former ufabet club Juventus, who had been successful, winning 11 trophies in five seasons.
“It was the perfect time. I might come back before that too. But I didn’t answer for personal reasons.”
“My mother passed away in 2018 so I didn’t want to move too far. I also wanted to be close to my son Giorgio and my father, who had been greatly affected by his mother’s death. He’s still in Livorno.”
“I decided to come back to Juventus because I have a strong relationship with the club and the owners. And I want to be close to my son in Turin and his mother. I want to be close to the people I love.”
Speaking about Real Madrid last year, Allegri said: “I signed them last summer. But I called the president to tell him I didn’t want to go because I chose Juventus.”
“He thanked me when they contacted me in May. I didn’t hesitate.”
“I don’t regret it. It would have been a great career at Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid, but you can’t have everything in your life.
“I’m proud to coach Milan for four years, and now at Juventus, I turned down Real Madrid twice, the first time when I talked about renewing my contract with Juventus, I told Florenti. No, let’s say I just made a deal with Agnelli.”
Allegri is currently contracted to Juventus until 2025, earning €9 million per year. Highest among Serie A coaches
